Mutiny Media Group
What began as a blog in May 2004 has since evolved into the go-to destination for all things Indian—from witty banter about sports and entertainment to the more serious political discussions and social issues. If you’re searching for the Indian perspective spanning a gamut of topics, Mutiny has got it covered, with opinions, experiences, debates and reviews that are held in high regard. To meet the demands of its hungry, intellectual audience, Mutiny Media Group decided to start the new 2010 with its inaugural print publication: MOB, featuring the best in culture, art, action, politics, fashion, business and sexuality. As such, they approached COMA for a makeover that’s befitting of this cutting-edge, avant-garde publishing house.
To differentiate Mutiny Media Group from its competitors, COMA opted for distinctive details: the Mutiny brand steers clear of clichéd acronyms, modern letterforms represent the company’s forward thinking, as well as a vibrant red to bear testament to its edgy personality. The result is an optimal combination of style and substance that’s in line with the Mutiny philosophy: smart, savvy and stylish.
The “MTNY” letterforms in the logo are not from a font but compound geometric shapes subtracted from and added to each other, to share similar angles and form an interesting symmetry.
